Acuity Pro Marco Interface Setup

Our Acuity Pro software and interface is designed to emulate the CP-690E or SC2000M chart projector.  Make sure that the TRS unit is configured to connect to a CP-690EM or SC2000M before continuing and also make sure the TRS unit is configured for 'cable' communication, not wireless..  Once configured, perform the following steps.  Should you have questions, call for tech support at 877-228-4890.

  •          Install the enclosed Acuity Pro software on a Windows computer with XP or later.

  •          Attach the USB hardware license key to an available USB port.

  •          Attach the Acuity Pro USB receiver to the computer.

  •          Turn off the Marco TRS unit.

  •          Turn off the Acuity Pro computer.

  •          Connect the cable with the round 7 pin plug into the Marco control box plug labeled CP.

  •          Connect the other end of the cable to the Interface box.

  •          Connect the included USB cable to the interface box.

  •          Connect the other end of the USB cable into any available USB port on the Acuity Pro computer.

  •          Turn on the Acuity Pro computer and wait for complete boot up.

  •          Turn on the TRS unit.

  •          If necessary, change the TRS chart projector output to CP-690EM or SC2000M.

  •          Launch Acuity Pro from the Windows desktop.

  •          Press the 'H' on the keyboard to gain access to the Acuity Pro control panel.

  •          Check the box entitled "Marco interface attached".

  •          The radio button entitled "Auto Select COM" should already be selected but if not, click on it.

  •          Press the 'H' key again then restart Acuity Pro by pressing 'Q' to quit then launching Acuity Pro from the Windows desktop.

Once Acuity Pro is restarted, it should be functional with the TRS control panel.   If for any reason the interface does not work, you may want to try reinstalling the driver, to reinstall, do the following:

  •          Open the Device Manager and locate the entry entitled Ports (COM & LPT)

  •          Look for an entry entitled  Prolific USB-To-Serial Comm Port (COMMxx)

  •          If it is not there or if there is an exclamation point over it then it should be reinstalled

  •         To reinstall driver, navigate to C:\Program Files\Acuity Pro 8.0 and locate the file entitled  PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1210.exe

  •          Double click on the files and if prompted, select Repair

  •          Once the install is completer, restart the computer.

  •          Launch Acuity Pro.

  •         Turn the Marco unit off, then back on.

Acuity Pro and it's interface was designed to work seamlessly, simultaneously and transparently with our custom 56 button remote control.  One can press a chart button on the TRS unit to display the corresponding CP-690EM or SC2000M screen then press a button on the Acuity Pro remote control to seamlessly display one of the screens from Acuity Pro which is not available from the CP-690M or SC2000M.  A good example would be our 'speedy acuity' chart (press Y), our 'Red/Green Circles' (press 'F'), our contrast sensitivity charts (press J) or perhaps our video or pathology photo libraries by pressing (X videos, Z photos) then up/down arrow then 'Select'.  One can jump right back to CP-690 charts simply by pressing a button on the TRS unit.
